Hospice Malta Support Programme
The project works with Hospice Malta, the country's leading provider of palliative care, to support Malta's transition towards a nationally integrated system of professional hospice services following the opening of St Michael Hospice in 2025.
Drawing on experience from operating a large-scale hospice network in the US, this project involves contributing through advisory support, workforce training, financial modelling, and long-term sustainability planning, alongside philanthropic investment in Malta's expanding hospice infrastructure.
National Impact
This initiative supports Malta's transition towards a modern, sustainable, and nationally integrated palliative care system following the opening of St Michael Hospice in 2025. By combining international operational expertise, workforce training, financial modelling, and long-term sustainability planning, the project strengthens Malta's healthcare and social care infrastructure while helping establish professional hospice care as a core national service.
Aligned with the objectives of Malta Vision 2050, the project supports the development of a more resilient, inclusive, and people-centred healthcare system focused on quality of life, dignity, and long-term wellbeing. It contributes to national priorities surrounding healthcare innovation, ageing populations, workforce development, and social sustainability, while fostering knowledge transfer and international best practices within Malta's healthcare sector.
